Rose Balston

Founding Director & Art Historian

Rose Balston is an art historian, TV presenter, lecturer and guide and the Founding Director of ArtscapesUK.

After receiving her MA in History of Art at Edinburgh University, Rose followed her passion for Diego Velรกzquez to Spain where she learnt to speak the language in order to research his work more closely. She then moved to Italy, spending four years tutoring and guiding students through some of the worldโ€™s greatest treasures. In 2009 Londonโ€™s epic art collections and cultural heritage lured Rose back to her home country where she founded ArtscapesUK.

Since then, her natural communication skills, unpretentious language, inspiring ideas and passionate delivery has bought clients to her from across the globe. Clients include American Express, International Finance Corporation, Aon, Citi, Zoom, Montblanc, Freshfields, Linklaters, Norton Rose Fulbright, Winston and Strawn, Latham and Watkins, Wallbrook Advisory, Young Presidents Organisation, The World, and many more. She works globally, mainly based between London and Dubai.

Rose has commentated for BBC Breakfast, Sky News and Al-Jazeera English, and has written for Harperโ€™s Bazaar Art, the Mail on Sunday, Mojeh, London Calling and The Resident magazine. In March 2013 Rose was nominated Condรฉ Nast Traveller London Art Expert.
