Our primary focus may be London, but we simply cannot ignore the multitude of inspirational stately homes, landscaped gardens and exquisite private collections scattered throughout the British Isles.
Artscapes offers tailor-made tours with exceptional exclusive-access to Britain’s most impressive country houses. Step behind the red rope and take high tea with the lady of the house, hear first-hand stories from the butler, gain special insights on rare art collections, or enjoy a guided tour of a private wine cellar.
Our out of town tours can be booked as day trips from London or as extended visits. In the latter, you can stay as guests of the owners of the stately homes or we can recommend nearby luxury country hotels.

Leaving London early, as the mist rises from the rolling hills we’ll find ourselves in the beautiful ancient village of Avebury. Here, raised on gentle mounds, is the world’s largest stone circle, alongside stone avenues and ancient tumuli. A magical place, more intimate than Stonehenge but no less awe inspiring, this is our favourite Neolithic site.
After coffee in nearby Avebury Manor, we’ll travel a short distance to one of England’s most beautiful manor houses and gardens, nestled in a valley on the edge of the River Frome – Iford Manor. With an exquisite art collection, this was once the home of Harold Peto who famously designed the breath-taking gardens.
After a leisurely lunch, we will move on to the Somerset outpost of Hauser & Wirth, one of the world’s most exciting contemporary art galleries. With its cutting edge artwork and famous garden designed by Piet Oudolf, this is the perfect ending point to reflect on the day. Spend the night at nearby Babington House or the Talbot Inn.
