Summer London

[Up to 4 hours excluding lunch]

By the month of July, the summer is in full swing in London.  From the tennis at Wimbledon to The Hampton Court Flower show, this city is the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful summerโ€™s day.  And what better way, than to focus your day around The River Thames.  From its historic significance to the present-day attractions, the Thames is the liquid super-highway through London and one of its defining features.  This inspiration itinerary takes you from one of the many waterside royal palaces to the Bankside attractions.  Enjoy!

Tower of London

Nowhere is more iconic than the Tower of London.  First constructed in 1078 to celebrate William the Conquerorโ€™s invasion of England, the Tower sat on the banks of the Thames to inspire and awe visitors.  The water-gate entrance, better known today as Traitorโ€™s Gate, has welcomed visitors off their river-going vessels for almost 800 years, and you can still see the worn rope marks along the Tower walls where boats bobbed up and down.  The Tower has a bloody side to its history, as it was here that three Queens of England lost their heads.  Today visitors flock to see the unsurpassed collection of Crown Jewels โ€“ last used in May 2023! at the coronation of King Charles III. A reminder of the contemporary significance of the Tower still today.

From here, why not board your own private Thames Limo.  A water taxi with a difference.  On board you can enjoy a chilled bottle of champagne and canapes as your driver transports you down the Thames from Tower Pier to London Eye Pier.  Your guide can point out all the water-side sights along the way, from Billingsgate Fish market to Shakespeareโ€™s Globe.

The River Thames

The London Eye

What better place to finish your tour, than ascending 135 meters into the sky on board the London Eye.  One of Londonโ€™s most popular attractions it boasts unsurpassed views over the River Thames all the way to Windsor on a clear day.  Enjoy the spectacle from one of the 32 pods โ€“ one for each of the London boroughs - or why not treat yourself to a private pod.  Our guides can point out and show you all the significant sights on the London skyline!
